Work in NegOcc, Bacolod gov’t offices due to ‘Odette’
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia ordered the suspension of work in government offices after the two areas were placed under Storm Signal No. 3 due to tropical storm “Odette.”
In a memorandum issued on Thursday, Lacson ordered the suspension of work at the capitol from 2 p.m. onwards.
Leonardia, on one hand, issued Executive Order No. 61 canceling work in city government agencies and face-to-face classes at the Alangilan National high School on Thursday and Friday. (https://bit.ly/3GNQatU)
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration placed the entire Negros Island under Signal No. 3 as super typhoon “Odette,” which is 340 kilometers (km) wide, packs maximum sustained winds of 130 km per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph with central pressure of 970 hPa.
“Odette” is expected to cross over Negros-Panay area today before heading towards Palawan.
