Western Visayas stays under MGCQ in May
Western Visayas will remain under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) for the month of May, President Rodrigo Duterte announced Wednesday.
This will be Iloilo City’s fifth straight month under MGCQ status, while this is Bacolod City’s fourth.
The provinces of Iloilo, Negros Occidental, Guimaras, Aklan, Antique, and Capiz have been under the lightest quarantine classification since June 2020. (https://bit.ly/3xAAqH2)
As of April 28, Western Visayas recorded a total of 37,653 Covid-19 cases, of which 2,600 were active, 34,217 recovered and 836 died.
Among the provinces, Negros Occidental had the most Covid-19 cases at 11,498, followed by Bacolod City with 7,600, Iloilo province with 6,863, Iloilo City with 6,348, and Capiz with 1,934.
