Waste energy plant eyed in Dumaguete City
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo recently will allow Swedish company Xeric AB to conduct a pre-feasibility study on building a landfill gas recovery plant for energy production in Dumaguete City.
Remollo said he agreed to the terms of the study because the company offered its services for free.
In The Visayan Daily Star, the politiko said the four-month project will help Dumaguete substantially comply with the ecological solid waste management program for building a landfill with a recovery plant for energy production.
Xeric AB has technologies that can capture methane gases from existing landfill areas to be sold as methane gas or used to generate electrical energy on site.
Remollo recently met with Xeric AB chief executive officer Ulf Malmerberg, Qualitek consultant Janet Porter, Xeric president Klas Lundgren, and senior consultant Jessica Magnusson.
