Senators Cynthia Villar and Juan Edgardo Angara are expected to grace the opening of the 26th Panaad sa Negros Festival at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City on Monday.

Both Villar and Angara are eyeing for a Senate seat in the May 2019 elections.

The Visayan Daily Star reported that the Negros Occidental provincial government allotted P20 million for the annual festival to be held from April 8 to14.

The week-long festival will start with a Thanksgiving Mass at the Panaad Stadium at 8 a.m. on Monday, followed by a lechon and chicken parade at the livestock and dairy fair area.

The Panaad sa Negros Festival will be participated in by the province’s 13 cities and 19 towns, including Bacolod City.
