UPV, ISCOF grads dominate fisheries exam
Graduates of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) in Miagao, Iloilo and the Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF) in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo clinched the top spots in the October 2019 Fisheries Technologist board exam.
UPV’s Gardel Xyza Libunao topped the board exam with a rating of 89 percent followed by Rico Ian Descutido Ong (87.75 percent) and Robinson Amihan Jr. (86.25 percent) of ISCOF.
Other UPV graduates who landed in the top 10 are Whelver Surnido (4th, 86 percent), Kim John Balboa (5th, 85.75 percent), Thereze Pauline Capaque, Josette Emlen Genio, Amethyl Pernito, and Isidro Tanangonan, (8th, 84.75 percent), Rhiannen Marie Licera and Karl Angelo Tenizo (9th, 84.50 percent); and Therese Javellana and Fedelia Flor Mero (10th, 84.25 percent). UPV emerged as the top performing school in the board exam with 105 out of 109 passers (96.33 percent).
Out of the 2,101 takers, 731 passed the Fisheries Technologist licensure exam, the Professional Regulation Commission said.
