Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante raised the possibility that United Negros Alliance (UNegA) members may join the newly organized political movement- Kilusan ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KNP).

Escalante, also the UNegA secretary, made the statement when asked if their political group will join KNP, which is headed by Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez.

KNP is currently applying for accreditation with the Commission on Election as a national political party. (https://t.ly/daGx)

The mayor recalled that during the 2022 elections, UNegA members were given the opportunity to select their presidential candidate.

“Most probably we may adopt the same position to preserve UNegA as a provincial party, with each mayor having its own choice,” said Escalante.

But with Benitez in the KNP, he stressed that “we may have a voice in the national government if this body will succeed.”
