Tupas says public consultation vital
Iloilo Rep. Raul “Boboy” Tupas (5th district) believes the only way to understand people’s needs is by spending time with them.
Tupas, the son of former Governor Niel Tupas Sr., is running for reelection in the 2019 midterm elections.
“It’s easy to say we want to improve people’s lives by way of agriculture, tourism, fisheries and other means of livelihood but without meet them the risk is higher that we will be imposing our own ideas instead of the other way around,” according to him.
In a Panay News article, Tupas said he does not have to prepare much for the elections because he has not stopped making the rounds of his district and implementing local programs.
“I work, I serve and it’s something that I do on a day-to-day basis. Probably, politics doesn’t really matter and my people are satisfied with my performance,” he added.
