Treñas wants more cops for Iloilo
Iloilo City does not have enough policemen, Mayor Jerry Treñas said.
Treñas is requesting Department of Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos for additional deployment.
He believes that a city of around 500,000 people should have 1,000 police officers, the mayor said. (https://bit.ly/3wgFTTY)
Treñas admitted he is not satisfied with the performance of the local police, particularly in the campaign against illegal drugs.
A minimum of P50 million is annually allotted by the city government to the city police for police patrol cars, firearms and ammunition.
