Treñas, PPP Center ink MOA for 3 projects
The city government of Iloilo has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for its three priority projects.
These include a modern slaughterhouse, rehabilitation of public markets and a waste-to-energy system.
Mayor Jerry Treñas yesterday signed the agreement on behalf of the city government while the PPP center was represented by Undersecretary and Executive Director Ferdinand Pecson. (https://www.panaynews.net/public-private-partnership-city-govt-signs-moa-with-ppp-center-for-3-projects/)
The PPP Center espouses the PPP scheme – a contractual agreement between the government and a private firm targeted towards financing, designing, implementing, and operating infrastructure facilities and services traditionally provided by the public sector.
“We need to enter into PPP because it will sustain income and revenues for the city government,” said Treñas.
An orientation-workshop with the PPP Selection Committee and Technical Working Group is scheduled on August 22 to 23.
