Treñas mulls placing Iloilo City under strictest quarantine status
Mayor Jerry Treñas is looking at the possibility of placing Iloilo City under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to the rising Covid-19 cases.
The city, whose active infections stand at 2,296 as of Thursday, is currently under a modified ECQ.
Treñas said he requested from Health Secretary Francisco Duque III for consumables like RT-PCR testing kits and personal protective equipment for the Iloilo City Uswag Molecular Laboratory. (https://bit.ly/3gb4hih)
He likewise appealed for additional medical personnel to augment the number of frontliners in the health and quarantine facilities, and for additional Covid-19 vaccines.
Meanwhile, the city mayor encouraged his constituents to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
“I appeal to everyone to be vaccinated if you have a chance,” said Treñas.
“We also continue to hire medical personnel to be deployed to the hospitals for a period of not less than two months. We need to help our healthcare system so that it will not be overwhelmed,” he concluded.
