Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas expressed support for the proposal to restrict the movement of unvaccinated individuals in light of a new surge in Covid-19 infections.

Last month, Treñas proposed to prohibit unvaccinated individuals from entering malls, places of worship, movie houses, restaurants, and government offices, among others.

“Unvaccinated people are at high risk of Covid-19. They are more likely to experience severe symptoms,” the mayor said. (https://bit.ly/3qTzZoG)

Beginning January 17, the city government will bar its employees and clients that have not received booster shots against Covid-19 from entering city hall.

Iloilo City will shift to a more stringent Alert Level 3 from January 9 to 15.
