Tourists, visitors prohibited from entry to Maasin, Iloilo
Maasin, Iloilo Mayor Francis Amboy imposed a month-long ban on the entry of tourists and visitors from out of town.
Amboy said the entry ban, which commenced April 6, will “safeguard our people against the deadly virus.”

As of this writing, the town had 36 confirmed infections, of which five are active and two have died.
The conduct of public events and large gatherings are also prohibited.
Those working in the town or with official transactions shall be granted entry provided “they adhere to minimum health protocols,” according to the mayor.
“Our municipal taskforce on Covid-19 is enjoined to conduct the monitoring and implementation of protocol and minimum public health standards at tourist and public areas where large crowds and mass gatherings are likely to occur,” he added. (AFP)
