Tommy Osmeña takes down Imee Marcos’ tarp for Sinulog

It’s for the best, the mayor said.

Mayor Tomas Osmeña ruffled some feathers anew after announcing that he will take down a huge tarpaulin carrying the face of Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, which was posted on a prominent street corner in Cebu City.

The bright pink banner had the headshot and greeting of the former Presidential daughter for Cebuanos as they celebrate the Sinulog Festival.

“Gov. Marcos,Trust me when I tell you I am doing you a favor by taking this tarpaulin down,” Osmeña said in an early morning Facebook post.

“The Cebuanos do not appreciate the politicization of the Sinulog. This won’t be earning you any votes and is doing you more harm than good.”

How will Marcos’ camp respond? Abangan.
