Tindahan sa daanan ng tao! Iloilo City opens sidewalks to vendors for holiday rush
With the Christmas rush expected to peak in the coming weeks, the Iloilo City government has opened many of its sidewalks to vendors.
Mayor Jose Espinosa III allowed some 300 vendors to sell at the open sidewalks of City Proper, La Paz, Arevalo, Villa, Mandurriao, and Lapuz.
But City Public Safety and Traffic Management Office head Jeck Conlu said vendors must secure first permits and register their products before they can do so (https://thedailyguardian.net/local-news/holiday-rush-city-hall-opens-sidewalks-to-vendors/).
Conlu also reminded the vendors they must provide a one-meter pathway for pedestrians.
He stressed firecrackers are banned from being sold by these vendors.
Items to be sold in the open sidewalks include fruits, gift items, ready-to-wear clothing (RTW), and other dry goods, he added.
For his part, Espinosa reminded the vendors to keep their areas clean and uniformed.
