Teves denies hand in Degamo murder

Negros Oriental Rep. Arnie Teves Jr. broke his silence on the killing of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo, saying that somebody wants to blame him over the incident.
Teves, who did not name names, claimed that a person wishes to be famous at his expense.
On March 4, Degamo and eight others were killed in an armed attack at his residence in Pamplona town. A total of 17 people were injured, with 13 still being treated in Dumaguete City hospitals. (https://bit.ly/41QgXAX)
Teves revealed on Facebook that he was in abroad for “stem cell treatment,” which caused the delay in issuing a statement about the incident.
He is the brother of Henry Pryde, who quit his post as governor following orders by the Comelec and Department of Interior and Local Government when Degamo was declared the winning governor of Negros Oriental by the poll body.
“If I had the plans, or have the capability to do it, I should have done it before the elections. What would be the motive, if I will do it now? I, or my brother, will not benefit from it,” Teves said in the vernacular.
The solon added that if something were to happen to the governor, the vice governor would take over, emphasizing that his brother had already been ordered to resign from the position.
