Tatlo nga banwa! PNP identifies election hotspots in Capiz
At least three towns in Capiz province have been tagged by the Philippine National Police as election hotspots ahead of the May 13 midterm polls.
Capiz provincial police head Police Col. Canelo Fuentes said the three towns include President Roxas, Cuartero and Tapaz.
Fuentes said there is intense political rivalry in President Roxas, while the communist New People’s Army are threats in Cuartero and Tapaz (https://thedailyguardian.net/local-news/pnp-tags-3-capiz-towns-as-poll-hot-spots/).
He said checkpoints have been established throughout the province, and appealed to the public to help the police in maintaining peaceful and honest elections.
For its part, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) is prepared for the May 13 polls, acting provincial Comelec supervisor Atty. Jessy Suarez said.
Suarez said they have completed the training of thousands of teachers who will assist the voters inside the polling places.
Capiz has 745 cluster precincts and 513,329 registered voters.
