Sure na sure! Martin Romualdez says House to pass Duterte’s anti-red tape bill
Martin Romualdez remains the working Majority Leader of the House despite the recent ugly drama.
The Leyte congressman made a fresh promise to his followers. Apart from the budget, the chamber will also pass the bill granting anti-red tape powers to President Rodrigo Duterte, doing away with some requirements and assigning faster turnaround times for permit applications.
He sponsored the measure alongside House leaders, including new Speaker Lord Allan Velasco.
“We have to help the President in his campaign to put a stop to
deep-rooted, systemic and systematic corruption in government,” the politiko said. “Tama ang ating Presidente na hindi dapat nahihirapan
ang mga tao sa kanilang transaksiyon sa pamahalaan.”

As soon as the House of Representatives receives the letter of certification from Malacañang, we will immediately pass on third and final reading the bill granting anti-red tape powers to President Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte. Upon the directive of the President and the instruction of Speaker Velasco, the House of Representatives will work on the passage of the anti-red tape measure before we adjourn the special session. On Wednesday evening, we filed, together with Speaker Velasco and Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez of Tingog Partylist, House Bill (HB) No. 7884 or An Act Authorizing the President to Expedite the Processing and Issuance of National and Local Permits, Licenses, and Certifications to accelerate the country’s socioeconomic recovery and ensure an effective government response to the present health crisis. We have to help the President in his campaign to put a stop to deep-rooted, systemic and systematic corruption in government. Tama ang ating Presidente na hindi dapat nahihirapan ang mga tao sa kanilang transaksiyon sa pamahalaan.
