State of Calamity declared in Capiz due to ‘Agaton’

The Capiz Provincial Board has approved the recommendation of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) to place the province under a state of calamity.

The provincial government allotted P10 million calamity fund for families affected by typhoon “Agaton.”

Data from the PDRRMO and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office showrd there are around 34,000 affected families that were affected by the typhoon and each will get P300 financial assistance. (https://bit.ly/3L52Df9)

Vice Governor Mitang Magbanua said the provincial government can only give as much as P300 per family based on the presentation made by Provincial Treasurer’s Office during the special session.

The distribution of the assistance will be distributed by the Philippine Red Cross because of the election period.
