Samsam Gullas cooks up Talisay’s own lechon festival
He is matching the revival of an old Cebu feast with one in his city.
Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas is just a few days in as mayor of Talisay, Cebu, but he’s been revealing one huge plan after another.
The politiko bared his proposal to create a yearly Lechon Festival every October to showcase the local cottage industry.
“The revival of the Lechon Festival was in consonance with the vision of Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia to revive Cebu’s festivals through the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo,” Gullas said, referring to the capitol’s newest move.
Another plan is to set up a lechon food court so vendors can sell there, attracting tourists in the process.
