Sa wakas! Ben Evardone happy to see Balangiga bells home

POLITIKO - The bible of Philippine Politics.
This politiko wants these bells returned to his home province once and for all.
Congressman Ben Evardone of Eastern Samar could not help but feel thankful after the United States finally returned the Balangiga bells to the Philippines.
The church bells were taken by American soldiers as spoils of war back in 1901. Filipino officials had long lobbied for their return, which only happened 117 years later on Dec. 11, 2018.
Just witnessed the historic turnover of Balangiga Bells, representing the dreams and aspirations of my constituents in our quest for peace, freedom, justice and friendship. Welcome home Balangiga Bells!
