Robredo’s removal as ICAD co-chair ‘not surprising’ – ex-NegOcc gov
Former Negros Occidental governor Rafael Coscolluela said the firing of Vice President Leni Robredo as co-chairperson of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs comes as no surprise.
President Rodrigo Duterte’s decision was “not surprising but a very poor reflection on the quality of thinking coming out of Malacañang,” said Coscolluela.
“But who knows? (Duterte) might change his tune again tomorrow,” he added. (https://bit.ly/2KTeMqC)
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea yesterday confirmed that Duterte, who took issue with Robredo’s meeting US embassy and United Nations drug experts, fired her as anti-drug czar.
The Vice President only lasted less than three weeks as head of the government’s anti-narcotics campaign.
