Right on schedule: Comelec starts printing ballots for Ormoc plebiscite
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has begun printing the ballots that will be used for the plebiscite in Ormoc City, Leyte this Saturday (Sept. 17).
“The Commission on Elections will commence the printing of plebiscite official ballots and other accountable forms for the conduct of the Plebiscite to Ratify the Merger of 28 Barangays into 3 Barangays, and Renaming of One Barangay, All in Ormoc City,” reads the advisory issued by Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco.
The Comelec has already invited citizens’ arm groups and other stakeholders to witness the printing of the ballots.
The poll recently issued separate resolutions that accredited the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) and National Citizens’ Movement for Free Elections (NAMFREL)
The plebiscite in Ormoc City is scheduled to take place this Oct. 8.
