Rama wants equal cash aid for teachers, non-teaching staff

Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama pushes for uniform financial support for public school teachers and non-teaching forces.

Teachers receive P10,000 in cash aid from the city’s coffers every December while the non-teaching personnel got P5,000.

During the recent Department of Education-Cebu City General Assembly, Rama promised to increase financial aid for around 300 non-teaching personnel from 126 public schools. (https://bit.ly/3KqDPR2)

They will soon receive the same amount as teachers, he added.

Rama said that he does not want any distinction in DepEd, as he does in City Hall, and that he also hopes that job orders receive cash bonuses because they deserve it.

He also directed a representative from the employees’ union to work on the paperwork for the increase for these non-teaching personnel.
