Rama seeks GCQ extension for Cebu City
Acting Mayor Michael Rama is pushing for an extension of general community quarantine (GCQ) in Cebu City for another month.
This is to strengthen the city’s Covid-19 vaccination campaign further, according to Rama.

Rama, however, said that there is a need to discuss the city’s next steps with different sectors so that proper assessment can be made.
“Because if there is a need for us to really see beyond, why are we going to be in a hurry? We don’t want to go back to a stricter quarantine status. It’s tiresome,” the Cebuano official added.
Data from the Emergency Operations Center showed that the active Covid-19 cases in Cebu City are down to 876, as of September 26.
The city also saw successive Covid-19 positivity rates lower than the five percent threshold of the World Health Organization in recent days.
