Rama says not invited to Sinulog board meeting
Cebu City Vice Mayor Michael Rama, the chairman of the Sinulog Foundation, Incorporated (SFI), was not invited to the meeting of the newly formed Cebu City Sinulog Governing Board (CCSGB) last Thursday.
During the meeting, CCSGB presented new and updated activities for the Sinulog celebration next year.
Rama said the SFI will have to approve the activities the CCSGB has presented. https://www.philstar.com/the-freeman/cebu-news/2019/10/26/1963384/rama-snubbed-sinulog-board-meeting#D3tkbTV5Fu4rokrE.99)
“From the point of view of the Sinulog Foundation, it’s only a proposal,” he added.
The politiko also clarified that SFI is the one responsible for all Sinulog activities.
“That’s why we wish to sit down because they cannot just organize activities without getting recognized by the Sinulog Foundation,” Rama said.
Mayor Edgardo Labella, for his part, said Rama was not invited to the meeting of the government board because he is not a member of the group.
The activities presented by CCSGB are those the SFI has reportedly agreed to, according to him.
“The Sinulog (governing) board agreed what was agreed upon already by the SFI. That’s the beauty there. The two groups complement each other for purposes of coming up with a very beautiful Sinulog this time,” Labella said.
