Rama flies to Manila anew for ‘investment begging’

Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama is off to Manila this week for another round of “investment marketing,” or “investment begging,” as he calls it.

Rama announced on Monday that he would be on an official trip to Manila beginning February 7.

“I will be in Manila [on] (Feb. 7). I already have some activities, [I] need not have to be with my workforce. I’ll probably be doing it by myself, with one protocol (officer) who will perform both, also as PIO,” the city mayor told reporters. (https://bit.ly/3RGLufY)

But he wouldn’t say who he’d meet on his trip.
When asked if he had any specific proposals or projects in mind that he would like to discuss with an investor, Rama said, “I don’t dictate. I always pray, and God is always hovering over whoever.”

He added that he wished to complete this round of investment marketing before taking another leave of absence for a personal trip with his family.

Rama began “invest begging” in August 2022, hoping to attract more investors and realize his dream of having a Singapore-like city.
