The Cebu City Government said it will push through with its coastal clean-up activity on Saturday amid the looming threat of typhoon Ompong, forecasted to make landfall in northern Cagayan tomorrow.

The event is part of the International Coastal Clean-up Day, which is organized by the Ocean Conservancy.

Nida Cabrera of the Cebu City Environment and Natural Resources said only an advisory from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources will stop them from proceeding with this activity.

The Lapu-Lapu City government meanwhile has postponed its coastal cleanup to September 22.
