Pwedeng umepal! Joe III declares ‘open season’ on politicians this Dinagyang fest
Only national politicians would be allowed to speak during the two-day highlights of this year’s Dinagyang Festival, Iloilo City Mayor Jose “Joe” Espinosa III said.
The main highlights include the Fiesta Pilipinas Kasadyahan Cultural Competition on January 27 and the Ati Tribes Competition on January 28.
“In my view, it’s open season for politicians. During lull moments between Dinagyang tribe performances, they can address the public,” said Espinosa.
Former special assistant to the president Christopher Go, a senatorial candidate, has been invited to attend the festival.
Also expected to participate are Senator Cynthia Villar and presidential daughter Sara Duterte Carpio.
Last year, Espinosa banned “epal” speeches and tarpaulins during the Dinagyang.
