Pwede naman pala! Richard Gomez flexes return of 113 OFWs to Ormoc
He’s not asking for much – only for proper coordination.
Mayor Richard Gomez recently blasted the national government for failing to coordinate with Ormoc City the return of overseas Filipino workers and locally stranded individuals, but now showed how he wants it done.
The politiko proved his naysayers wrong as he managed to let in 113 returnees through what he dubbed a “properly coordinated” journey from Cebu to the city.
“This is the result of a well-managed and processed repatriates,” Gomez said.
“They were rapid tested before checking in the shipping line. An Waray provided the testing booths complete with medical staff.
Once they reached the port of Ormoc they were given a choice whether to stay in a quarantined hotel or the managed quarantine of the LGU using brand new NHA units,” he added.
