Puso! WVMC to get heart machine from PH Heart Center
The Western Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo City will soon get a heart diagnostic machine from the Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City.
Last July 19, the WVMC and Iloilo City government signed an agreement for the transport and installation of the machine from the PHC in Quezon City.
Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, who signed the agreement with WVMC head Dr. Joseph Dean Nicolo, said the city government will shoulder the P2.2-million cost of the transport and re-installation of the Allura FD 10/10 cardiac catheterization machine .
“This is a big help to Iloilo City residents who have heart problems, especially in finances; moreover, it will decongest the PHC, and the patients of family will have opportunity to give emotional and mental support to their patients,” Mabilog said.
Meanwhile, Nicolo said WVMC may have a dry-run operation of the machine in December.
If all goes well, he said poor heart patients from Iloilo and other Panay provinces can benefit from the machine.
