Puentevella vows to restore ‘order and discipline’ in Bacolod

Suspended Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella already has a plan on what to do once he gets back to work on February 15.

Puentevella said he is keen on “restoring order and discipline in Bacolod,” starting with the city’s traffic woes.

“You will see me on the streets again. Bacolod will be back to normal and we will put back what’s necessary on Valentine’s Day,” Puentevella was quoted as saying in a Sun.Star report.

The mayor was suspended last November due to a graft case involving the alleged overpriced purchase of computers amounting to P26 million using his Priority Development Assistance Fund when he was still a congressman.

He was replaced by Vice Mayor Greg Gasataya, who said on Friday that he already told his appointees to quit their positions in preparation for Puentevella’s return.
