Public Works studying Boracay-Caticlan bridge proposal
Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar said he studying a project proposal that will create a bridge between the island of Boracay and Caticlan in the Aklan mainland.
San Miguel Corp. earlier this year proposed the construction of a P3-billion Boracay-Caticlan bridge, which could be completed within two years.
“I have already received the proposal for the bridge project. We are currently studying it,” Villar said.
The DPWH chief said they have to assess first whether the 1.5-kilometer bridge can contribute significantly to Boracay’s tourism industry.
