Leyte Rep. Vicente Veloso on Friday vowed to resign from his post if authorities can prove that he is a narco-politician.

The former Court of Appeals (CA) justice said Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Gen. Oscar Albayalde, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Chief, Director General Aaron Aquino, should resign if they fail to prove his alleged link to the illegal drug trade.

“If I am involved, I will resign. On the other hand, if they cannot prove why they put me in that list, they should also resign,” Veloso said.

Meanwhile, the chair of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Constitutional Amendments said the allegations leveled against him is just a “rehash” of previous allegations.

“Yet, the PDEA and self-confessed drug distributor Kerwin Espinosa have already cleared me before from such allegation,” Veloso said.

He said the damage done to him by what he described as the “baseless and unfounded” narco-list that President Rodrigo Duterte read out last Thursday night has taken its toll on him.

“I have been unduly injured by this list and those responsible for the inclusion of my name on that list must be sued criminally, must be penalized criminally,” Veloso said. (PNA)
