Pilot rollout Covid-19 jabs for minors on Oct. 19 – Treñas
The city government of Iloilo is expected to start its rollout of Covid-19 vaccines for children next week.
Mayor Jerry Treñas has requested the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to allow the pilot vaccination on October 19.
But, the government’s task force on pandemic response has yet to respond. (https://bit.ly/3oZ8GK8)
“Our vaccination teams will be preparing for the vaccination of minors once Pfizer and Moderna supplies from the national government arrive. They have been approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration,” said Treñas.
Around 5,000 children aged 12 to 17 years old have already pre-registered to receive the vaccine.
The Department of Health earlier said pediatric vaccination will start with those with comorbidities as part of the A3 priority group.
