Pak!: P100k cash gifts for centenarians in Bacolod pushed
Bacolod City Councilor Caesar Distrito is pushing for the granting of higher cash incentives for centenarians in his province.
From the current P10,000 incentives provided under the City Ordinance 08-14-670, which was approved in 2014, Distrito is eyeing to give P100,000 to his constituents who will reach the age of 100.
Distrito said only few people reach 100 years old therefore it is “just fitting” to give them the recognition and incentives that they deserve.
He added that raising the incentives would be “more commemorative” for the centenarians.
“It is one of the city government programs providing social security to our elderly residents,” he said.
Distrito’s proposed ordinance will be named “Centenarian Awardee Cash Incentive.”
Under the new measure, the city government will allocate P2 million from its annual budget for the cash incentive.
