P75-M set for Kabankalan, Negros airport
Some P75 million has been set aside for the runway concreting and passenger terminal of the Kabankalan airport in Negros Occidental.
Mayor Isidro Zayco P30 million came from the Department of Transportation for runway concreting while Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri provided P15 million for the passenger terminal.
The city government also allocated P30 million for the runway concreting, according to a report on Visayan Daily Star.
He said they are now asking the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines to visit the Kabankalan airport to see if the runway fits their standards.
Work on the 105-hectare airport started in 2007.
