A total of 122 city government vehicles in Bacolod City were unaccounted for. An investigation is currently underway.

An inventory of the General Services Office (GSO) showed that only 368 of 500 government vehicles could be accounted for.

“They must be held responsible,” Mayor Albee Benitez said in the vernacular. (https://bit.ly/3RJ87k3)

On Monday, GSO head Gilda Lluisma said the 500 vehicles were issued to accountable city government officers and employees.

Of these, 197 vehicles were serviceable, 108 unserviceable, 90 items not found (INF), 88 not reported, 13 undocumented to be verified, and four returned.

Show-cause orders will be given, according to Benitez.

Lluisma said INF vehicles were mostly assigned to the Bacolod City Police Office, while some accountable employees had already resigned, retired, or were absent without official leave.
