Osmeña: Cebu City’s crack down vs businesses without permit will spare no one

No stone will be left unturned.

Cebu City Tomas Osmeña vowed that no one will be spared on his crack down against establishments operating in the city without business permits.

“Now, I am warning them. I don’t care who you are. There is no exception, even if you’re Banco De Oro. No exception if you’re SM Prime Holdings Incorporated. No exception if you’re my relatives,” Osmeña said.

“Especially if you’re my relatives. 14 thousand businesses in Cebu City pay no taxes. The big ones come first,” the mayor added.

Osmeña said that that City Treasurer’s Office found out that out of 28,817 establishments in the City, only 14,404 have business permits.

Several establishments in Cebu City. have been ordered closed in the past few weeks for operating without business permits.
