Opposition councilor slams Mayor Osmeña for ‘double standard’ on killings of criminals
An opposition councilor hit Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña for his “double standard” amid the spate of killings in the Queen City of the South.
Osmeña is currently having a word war with Cebu City Police Chief Royina Garma over the killings.
Councilor Pastor Alcover Jr. said Osmeña does not have the “moral ascendancy” to criticize Garma.
Alcover said Osmeña himself supported the killings of criminals before.
Osmeña said he would give P50,000 to cops for every criminal they will kill in 2016.
“Siya gyud ang nagsugod aning tanan kay siya’y nag-encourage sa mga police nga mopatay og criminal kay tagaan niya og P50,000. Karon, asa naman siya? Mura’g wala siya’y moral ascendancy nga sige siya’g sulti against killings. In the first place, siya’y gauna-una ana,” Alcover said.
