Number of crimes reported in Cebu City drop
Fewer crimes were recorded in Cebu City from September to October this year.
Index crimes were lower by 45.4 percent compared to those registered in the same period in 2018, said Cebu City Police Office officer-in-charge Colonel Jovanie Maines.
Non-index crimes also dropped by 5.7 percent. In all, the peace and order index reduced by 20.8 percent. (https://bit.ly/2r0gQGz)
Index crimes include murder, physical injuries, robbery, theft, and carnapping.
On one hand, non-index crimes include violations of the laws against illegal drugs and illegal gambling.
CCPO said the decline in the index crimes reflects the intensified efforts to combat drugs.
