Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez said that local chief executives have not received any threats, as of this time.

Benitez is the chair of the Association of Chief Executives (ACE)–Negros Occidental, yesterday

There is no need to beef up his security personnel despite the assassination of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo, and recent attacks against other local chief executives, he added.

“We don’t have that level of political tension in Negros Occidental,” the city mayor said.

Benitez said that he and mayors of Negros Occidental constantly coordinate with their respective police chiefs and Negros Occidental police director PCol. Leo Pamittan on current security issues.
