No quincentennial bonus for now, says Lapu mayor
Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan won’t prioritize the giving of a quincentennial bonus to City Hall employees in line with the April 27 commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Victory at Mactan.
Chan issued the remark after the City Council proposed the giving of the quincentennial bonus.
He would prioritize spending the city’s fund on their ongoing efforts against Covid-19, according to him. (https://bit.ly/3shkhCi)
“We cannot be sure of our situation because of the pandemic. It’s not our priority. Our priority is our COVID situation,” the city mayor said in the vernacular.
Chan, however, said the city might delay the giving of the bonus before the year would end.
“If we have extra before the end of the year, probably we can ask the President to give to our workers,” he also said.
