NHCP urges Mayor Alonsabe to find alternative site for multi-purpose building
Alimodian Mayor Geefre Alonsabe on August 1 called for a public consultation after the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) advised the municipal government to look for an alternative site for its proposed multi-purpose building.
The P5-million multi-purpose building is being proposed to be built at Alimodian’s public plaza.
“We advise the municipal government of Alimodian to look for a different site to build the multi-purpose building or any similar permanent structures other than the existing town plaza,” the NHCP said.
Several concerned citizens urged the NHCP intervene in the project because the public plaza is considered an Important Cultural Property (ICP).
The Iloilo politiko said public consultation aimed to hear the sides of all stakeholders.
