New Governance Center soon to rise in Guimaras

The provincial government of Guimaras will soon have a New Governance Center (NGC).

The Daily Guardian reported that construction on the new capitol building will begin next year.

In his State of the Province Address, Governor Samuel Gumarin said the NGC “will soon rise and a renewed brand of governance and infrastructure, compliant to all national laws and governing policies will eventually improve the image and quality of public services in the Province of Guimaras.”

The building is inspired by Neoclassical architecture and influenced by the United States Capitol, The White House and Buckingham Palace, according to him.

Regarding environmental protection as a high priority, green building strategies will be used in the construction of the building.

“The design can help improve air quality inside through the open garden including the landscape and hardscape. The provision of wide windows and entrances, as energy-efficient, natural daylight design reduces a building’s electricity needs and improves people’s health and productivity,” Gumarin said.

Gumarin said the Land Bank of the Philippines approved the P300-million loan for the NGC construction.

Of the amount, P250 million will be utilized for the construction while the remainder will be for the acquisition of furniture, fixtures, and other equipment.
