NegOr guv Degamo inaugurates river dike project worth P7M

Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo on Wednesday led the inauguration of a P7-million river dike control project in Barangay Cadawinonan, Dumaguete City.

The Visayan Daily Start reported that the amount was taken from the P14 million reward the province received in winning the Seal of Good Housekeeping award in 2018.

Degamo was joined by Dumaguete Mayor Felipe Remollo and barangay officials, headed by Jimmy Tabada, during the inauguration rites.

The governor said he also looking into the construction of an airport parallel to the beaches, from Dumaguete to Bacong.

He, however, opposed plans to establish a new airport in Bacong as spillovers from Dumaguete have the option of finding their residences in the area.
