NegOcc warns of job scams
The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental advised the public to be wary of unauthorized and indirect transactions or dealings at the capitol.
Acting Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said they have received various complaints involving fake job offers and food reservations.
Certain unscrupulous people prey on job seekers, asking for money in exchange for employment, added Gelvolea.
“The provincial government never authorized anybody to collect fees from individuals applying at the capitol,” she noted.
According to her, the provincial government hires individuals through the Provincial Human Resource Management Office.
Gelvolea earlier warned food establishments against unauthorized transactions using the name of the Office of the Governor for orders.
“We would like to inform the restaurant owners that only personnel and staff of the governor’s office are authorized to transact business with food establishments,” she said.
