NegOcc still safe, says gov

POLITIKO - The bible of Philippine Politics.
Negros Occidental remains safe based on the latest threat assessments among local chief executives (LCEs) despite the March 4 murder of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.
Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office director Leo Pamittan assured Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said that everything is fine.
Lacson said that he learned about the results of the meeting between the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the League of Governors of the Philippines. (https://bit.ly/3l0zUk9)
It was determined that the best course of action is to gather data and intelligence, according to him.
“In fact even Iloilo governor Toto Defensor has said there should be constant assessment of the situation in their [respective] areas and that is true for all of us,” the governor said.
Earlier, Lacson said that he does not see the need to beef up his personal security despite offers from the PNP national headquarters itself.
