Negros Occidental will not close its borders to Iloilo but will only require negative RT-PCR results from travelers “with no exception,” Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said.

Lacson said the province can’t close its borders because of trade.

“The provisions of Executive Order 21-38, series of 2021, shall be the uniform travel protocol for all inbound travelers to Negros Occidental, from Aug. 1 to 31,” the governor said in an advisory following the detection of four more cases of Covid-19 Delta variant in Panay Island. (

This includes the strict implementation of Section 2 (3) which requires negative RT-PCR test results at least 72 hours before travel.

The city and province of Iloilo are under enhanced community quarantine until August 7.

Bacolod City and Negros Oriental are under general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions, while Negros Occidental remain under GCQ the whole month of August.
