Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson expects a closer cooperation between the provincial government and the city government of Bacolod with Albee Benitez as mayor.

He hopes that under Benitez’s leadership, the provincial government will be invited to take part, too, in Bacolod City’s endeavors, said Lacson.

Benitez was Lacson’s consultant on economic affairs prior to running for mayor. (

Meanwhile, Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said that he sees a “more tranquil” relationship between the city and the provincial government especially in the implementation of projects.

Benitez and Lacson are both leaders of local party Love Negros, while Ferrer is one of the leaders of the United Negros Alliance.
