NegOcc gov backs Ceneco-IGNITE JVA

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has endorsed the proposed Joint Venture Agreement between the Central Negros Electric Cooperative and IGNITE Power.

“As governor, I fully endorse that JVA,” Lacson said following a meeting and a briefing from More Power operations in Iloilo.

The governor said he has not heard any negative comments from local chief executives within the Ceneco area, on the proposal. (https://shorturl.ac/7aa9d)

Ceneco acting general manager Arnel Lapore earlier disclosed that the plebiscite on the JVA will be held on June 24 and 25, as well as July 1 and 2, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., based on the guidelines issued by the National Electrification Administration.

They need 50 percent plus 1 of Ceneco members, in good standing, in order for the JVA to be approved, said Lapore.
